Top Ten Quotes I Loved From Books I Read In The Past Year Or So

10. "Her eyes widen and she shoves me back and then there's a space between us, enough to paralyze me with all of the things I could do to her next. I could raise my hand and hit her in the face or bring my knee into her stomach, take a fistful of her hair and rip it out of her skull. You don't get to do this when you're a girl, so when the opportunity for violence finally presents itself, I want all of it at once."
- Courtney Summers, All the Rage

9. “Aren't you afraid of dying?" he asked Lila now.
She looked at him as if it were a strange question. And then she shook her head. "Death comes for everyone," she said simply. "I'm not afraid of dying. But I am afraid of dying here." She swept her hand over the room, the tavern, the city. "I'd rather die on an adventure than live standing still.”
- V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic

8. “Not everyone has to be the Chosen One. Not everyone has to be the guy who saves the world. Most people just have to live their lives the best they can, doing things that are great for them, having great friends, trying to make their lives better, loving people properly. All the while knowing that the world makes no sense but trying to find a way to be happy anyway.”
- Patrick Ness, The Rest of Us Just Live Here

7. “What's a dementor?"
I mean, I can't even. "Nora, you are no longer my sister."
"So it's some Harry Potter thing," she says.”
- Becky Albertalli, Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda

6. “She had been desperate to feel something, anything. She needed a window, because she had broken her heart throwing it at locked doors.”
Amy Zhang, Falling Into Place

5. “That's what life is, pretty much: full of holes and tangles and ways to get stuck. Uncomfortable and itchy. A present you never asked for, never wanted, never chose. A present you're supposed to be excited to wear, day after day, even when you'd rather stay in bed and do nothing.”
- Lauren Oliver, Vanishing Girls

4. “Could you do a glamour and turn into something smaller?" I asked it. "Preferably not a chain, since it's no longer the 1990s?"
The sword didn't reply (duh), but I imagined it was humming at a more interrogative pitch, like, Such as what?
"I dunno. Something pocket-size and innocuous. A pen, maybe?"
The sword pulsed, almost like it was laughing. I imagined it saying, A pen sword. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.”
- Rick Riordan, The Sword of Summer

3. “Suddenly all those careful preparations disintegrated as predators far more dangerous than the walking dead proved what all wise killers already knew: that nothing was more dangerous than living men.”
- Jonathan Maberry, Fire & Ash

2. “We're all mad here.”
- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

1. “No Mourners.
No Funerals.”
- Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows

  3. Jag älskar citatet ur Alice i Underlandet, och det ur The Rest of Us Just Live Here. Det är så många som har citerat intressanta saker ur Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda denna vecka att jag nog måste kika närmre på vad det är för bok.
