Top Ten Tuesday - All Time Favorite Contemporary Books

Varje tisdag anordnar The Broke and the Bookish en Top Ten Tuesday.
Top Ten All Time Favorite Books in X Genre (you pick the genre!),
och jag har valt Contemporary som genre..

10. Racing Savannah av Miranda Kenneally
"You are really pretty..." He drags a hand through his blond hair. "But you're kind of like a great book...you know, you pick up a book at the bookstore because it has a beautiful cover...but it's what's inside that pulls you in."
That might be the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."
9. Lola and the Boy Next Door av Stephanie Perkins
“So do you believe in second chances?" I bite my lip.
"Second, third, fourth. Whatever it takes. However long it takes. If the person is right," he adds.
"If the person is... Lola?"
This time, he holds my gaze. "Only if the other person is Cricket.”

8. Stealing Parker av Miranda Kenneally
“It's a scary thing to wake up and realize the people you need most aren't nearby anymore... But you keep moving.”

7. The Distance Between Us av Kasie West
“A lot of people don’t get my humor. My mom calls it dry humor. I think that means “not funny,” but it also means I’m the only one who ever knows it’s a joke.”
6. Anna and the French Kiss av Stephanie Perkins
“French name, English accent, American school. Anna confused.”
5. A Midsummer's Nightmare av Kody Keplinger
“I was supposed to be at the condo, wasting time on the beach, just Dad and me, figuring out college and my life and spending time together. Instead, I was in a new house with new people - including a future stepbrother who'd seen me naked.”

4. The Fault in Our Stars av John Green
“Oh, I wouldn't mind, Hazel Grace. It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you.”
3. Fangirl av Rainbow Rowell
“No,' Cath said, 'seriously. Look at you. You’ve got your shit together, you’re not scared of anything. I’m scared of everything. And I’m crazy. Like maybe you think I’m a little crazy, but I only ever let people see the tip of my crazy iceberg. Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy and socially inept, I’m a complete disaster.”
2. Cracked Up to Be av Courtney Summers
“Everyone should know--there's no such thing as a decent human being. It's just an illusion. And when it's gone, it's really gone.”

1. Jellicoe Road av Melina Marchetta
“Someone asked us later, "Didn't you wonder why no one came across you sooner?"
Did I wonder?
When you see your parents zipped up in black body bags on the Jellicoe Road like they're some kind of garbage, don't you know?
Wonder dies.”

  1. I don't read much contemporary, but I have read most of The Fault of Our Stars. On Jellicoe Road and Fangirl have been on my TBR for some time so glad to see that you liked them.

  2. I've been wanting to read Jellicoe Road for AGES and I have it on my ereader, but for some reason I've been pushing it back again and again. I'll definitely try to read it over the summer. Great list all and all, there are so many books here that I love too :)

Är ca 120 sidor in...
Ska kolla upp Cracked up to be lite närmare!

Cracked Up to Be är jättebra. Hemsk, men bra. :)
