Kommentar: Det här är en utav de böcker jag ser fram emot allra mest inför 2013.

Handlingen verkar otroligt lovande och omslaget är fantastiskt!

This man, the same man who once appeared to Isobel in her dreams and abandoned her in Varen’s nightmare world, holds the key to saving Varen.

Precis som med Nevermore så älskade jag Enshadowed. Kelly Creagh har skapat både sagolika och skrämmande världar, hennes prosa är otroligt vacker och jag bara älskar karaktärerna. 


Nevermore lämnade både mig och Isobel med ett krossat hjärta, och i Enshadowed gör Isobel allt för att hitta en väg tillbaka till drömlandet, och tillbaka till Varen.

Isobel har verkligen växt i mina ögon, hon är mer mogen och hon har ett enda mål, att hitta Varen, och hon ger aldrig upp. Jag beundrar hennes styrka och hon har blivit en utav mina favoritkaraktärer.
Isobels bästa (och enda) kompis Gwen är med ganska mycket i Enshadowed, och jag älskar henne. Hon tillför många skratt till en annars väldigt mörk stämning.

Det är otroligt lätt att leva sig in i boken och Isobels känslor blir nästan mina egna känslor. Under bokens gång så pendlar jag mellan hopp och förtvivlan hela tiden.

Enshadowed är en väldigt mörk bok, den är både sorglig, skrämmande och makalöst vacker.
Ett sant mästerverk!

Nevermore är en väldigt speciell bok, utan inblandningen av Edgar Allan Poe hade den knappt skiljt sig från mängden av alla paranormal romance böcker som finns, men när den vävs samman med Poe och hans verk, ja då blir den enastående!

Nevermore är en lång bok, 543 sidor för att vara exakt, och vid sina tillfällen är den väldigt långsam, dock inte på ett dåligt sätt utan snarare att det gör att historien och relationerna mellan karaktärerna hinner byggas upp och kännas äkta.
Miljöerna är så detaljerade och sagolika att jag var tvungen att lägga ifrån mig boken lite då och då för att bara fundera på dem och för att se allt framför mig.

Jag gillade karaktärerna, i början av boken tyckte jag inte alls om Isobel, jag fann henne både ytlig och feg och jag bara väntade på att hon skulle våga säga ifrån. Under bokens gång så växer Isobel hela tiden som person och i slutet märker jag hur mycket jag tycker om henne.
Jag tyckte mycket om Varen, han var väldigt mörk och mystisk och jag vill gärna lära känna honom bättre. Jag älskade Isobel och Varen tillsammans, cheerleader + goth är en himla intressant kombination, och det liksom märks hur mycket dem hör ihop.
I övrigt så hatade jag "the Crew" och älskade Gwen!

I mina ögon var Nevermore helt underbar. Världen, karaktärerna, Poe.. jag fullkomligt älskade den!

Varen’s head snapped so quickly toward her father that Isobel was surprised the sunglasses hadn’t flown off.

“Often,” Poe growled, angling away, pulling his already tight jacket around himself even tighter.”  

“So." [Isobel] cleared her throat. "What are we doing?"
"We," [Varen] said at last, "are doing a project on Poe."
"Didn't he marry his cousin or something?"
"The man is a literary god and that's all you have to say?”

The Iron Fey är en utav mina favoritserier och jag har länge sett fram emot denna fortsättning som handlar om Meghans lillebror Ethan. The Lost Prince är inte riktigt lika bra som The Iron Fey, men jag tyckte mycket om den ändå.

Jag tänker börja med att säga att jag är väldigt glad över att ha läst novellen Iron's Prophecy, som utspelar sig efter händelserna i The Iron Knight, därför att mycket som sker i The Lost Prince har sina förklaringar i Iron's Prophecy. Det är dock inget måste att ha läst den, men om ni har möjlighet att göra det, så rekommenderar jag det.

När jag tänker på Ethan Chase så tänker jag på den otroligt gulliga ungen i The Iron King, men dagens Ethan Chase? Inte så gullig längre..
Ethan är väldigt bitter och trulig. Faeries har förstört hans liv och han hatar dem alla. Han stöter bort alla som försöker komman honom nära och till sist blir jag lite less på hans berättarröst. Även om jag kan förstå Ethan, så är det ändå så mycket negativitet hela tiden och det blir fort tröttsamt.
Utöver Ethan så har Kenzie och Keirran stora roller. Kenzie är kärleksintresset och i början av boken avskydde jag henne, men hon blir bättre och bättre. Kenzie är väldigt livlig och positiv, och det kompenserar bra för Ethans tjurighet.
Jag tänker faktiskt inte säga så mycket om Keirran, det får ni ta reda på själv. ;)
 .
Boken blev lite långdragen ibland och det var för lite action för min del. Dock är det alltid trevligt att få hälsa på i the Nevernever, och the Forgotten var himla intressanta.
De bästa delarna i boken är dock när Meghan, Ash och Puck är med, och jag önskar att dem haft större roller.

Nu är det visst jag som varit lite negativ, men trots det så tyckte jag väldigt mycket om The Lost Prince och jag är övertygad om att nästa bok kommer vara ännu bättre!

Book Haul

Jag har fått hem 6 böcker under veckan, och det verkar som att jag har övergivit mitt köpförbud. ;)

Först fick jag hem Deity av Jennifer L. Armentrout, men eftersom den är hos

min syster får ni bara en vanlig bild av den.

Sen gjorde jag en liten Adlibris beställning och fick hem dessa böcker:

Jag älskade första boken och orkade inte vänta längre på att få läsa fortsättningen.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer var en utav de bästa böckerna jag läste förra året, och förståeligt nog så var mina förväntningar på The Evolution of Mara Dyer skyhöga. Om Michelle Hodkin levererade?
Definitivt! 

Det bästa med Mara Dyer serien är att under läsningens gång så är man aldrig säker på vad som är verkligt eller inte. Precis när jag äntligen tror att jag förstår allt, slänger Hodkin in en ny twist och återigen har jag ingen aning vad som händer. Jag blir galen och jag älskar det!

Jag älskar karaktärerna, både Mara och Noah är väldigt komplexa, båda är så trasiga men tillsammans blir dem hela, och deras relation är en av de finaste jag vet.
“This was the boy I loved. A little bit messy. A little bit ruffled. A beautiful disaster. Just like me.”

Jag måste naturligtvis säga något om slutet.. Det kan vara en av de värsta cliffhangers någonsin, jag menar seriöst! Wtf?! Jag kan inte ens tänka mig vad som kommer att hända nu..

Det är svårt att hitta de rätta orden för att göra The Evolution of Mara Dyer rättvisa. Vad jag kan säga är att det är en fenomenal bok. Spännande, skrämmande och sexig!

Jag hade Angelfire på min TBR-lista ganska länge men tog bort den eftersom jag bara såg dåliga recensioner. Sedan läste jag Jennifers recension och beslöt mig för att ge den en chans. Och jag måste säga att jag blev väldigt positivt överraskad!

Handlingen är fenomenal, den är väl genomtänkt och jag älskar mytologin bakom den. Det är väldigt fascinerande med alla änglar och reapers, och jag gillar alla fightscener. Det är mycket action i Angelfire och det blir aldrig långtråkigt. 

Jag har sett många klagomål på Ellie, men jag gillade verkligen henne. Redan från början var hon charmig, kvicktänkt och stod upp för sig själv. Det var roligt att se hur hon utvecklades från en vanlig tonårstjej till en badass Preliator.
Jag tyckte mycket om Will, men i slutet blev jag lite mycket irriterad på honom, spoiler --> jag är så trött på allt tjaffsande om att man inte kan vara tillsammans. Gör det bästa av situationen istället. Suck!  spoiler slut. Han är ingen favoritkaraktär, men jag älskar kemin mellan honom och Ellie.

Trots att jag inte tänker säga något om det, så måste jag ändå påpeka det som hände i slutet.. OMG! Seriöst? Helt oväntat.

Nu längtar jag bara efter att få läsa fortsättningen, är den lika bra som Angelfire så har jag definitivt fått en ny favoritserie!

The Name of the Star var inte alls så spännande och blodig som jag förväntade mig, och tyvärr så måste jag säga att jag blev väldigt besviken. 

Boken var för det mesta väldigt långsam och det tog längre tid än vanligt för mig att läsa den. Det var alldeles för många beskrivningar och den hade lätt kunnat vara 100 sidor kortare utan att förlora något viktigt. Men jag måste också säga att de få gånger det var spännande, då var det riktigt spännande. 

En av de saker jag tyckte mycket om var Rorys berättarröst. Hon var charmig, kvicktänkt och otroligt rolig. Jag gillade alla hennes historier om diverse familjemedlemmar och allra helst i början av boken fick hon mig att skratta flera gånger. 

Takten är det sämsta med boken, men i det stora hela så gillar jag faktiskt The Name of the Star, och jag kommer säkerligen att läsa uppföljaren när den kommer nästa år.

But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.

Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn’t scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?

Jag har velat läsa Ten sedan jag först hörde talas om den. Boken är baserad på Agatha Christies "And Then There Were None", men det första jag kom att tänka på när jag hörde handlingen var den gamla skräckfilmen April Fool's Day, vilken skrämde livet ur mig när jag var 12 (har sett den i vuxen ålder också, och fy så dålig den är). Om jag blev lika rädd när jag läste Ten? Absolut!

Jag har nog aldrig läst en bok som gjort mig så skräckslagen tidigare och jag ser inte fram emot att behöva vara själv resten av veckan. Att jag läste boken i dagsljus hjälpte inte det minsta. Precis när jag läste detta: "..or there's someone else in the house", ringde min mobil och jag blev så rädd att det kan hända att jag skrek rakt ut. Det kan förstås också ha hänt att jag var tvungen att byta sittplats så att ingen skulle kunna smyga upp bakom mig! ;)

Det är svårt att skriva en recension utan att spoila en massa så därför får den bli ganska kort. Det sista jag har att säga är att jag älskade denna bok och det var inte förrän in i det sista som jag förstod vem mördaren var. Läs den nu!

Kommentar: Som läsmånad har Oktober varit sisådär, den började bra, blev sämre och till sist bra igen. Jag hade för höga förväntningar på det jag läste och många böcker gjorde mig besviken.
Bäst i Oktober var Alice in Zombieland, helt klart en av 2012 bästa böcker!
Fler otroligt bra böcker värda att nämna är: Whispers at Moonrise, The Evolution of Mara Dyer, Ten, Angelfire och The Lost Prince.
Nu hoppas jag på en ännu bättre läsmånad i November.
